Our story

Making films since 2007

eko create started making films in York in 2007. Since then we’ve produced video, animation, photography and podcasts for organisations across the UK, in financial services, transport, publishing, education and the public sector.

Most of what we make is corporate communications: customer stories, internal films, explainer animation, event coverage, social content and podcasts for organisations with a lot to say and a need to say it clearly.

We’re still based in York, and we still work the same way: listen carefully, plan properly and make something people will actually watch.

eko create was founded by Dan Taylor and Andy Watkins. Dan has led the company since 2018.

Who you’ll work with

A small team with the right crew for each job.

You’ll work directly with Dan Taylor, who looks after creative direction and stays involved from the first conversation through to final delivery.

For each project, we bring in the right people from a trusted group of camera operators, editors, designers and animators we’ve worked with for years. That keeps things simple: one point of contact, and a crew that fits the job.

We’re independent, so there’s no layer of account managers between you and the people making the work. A project might need a two-person crew for a day, or a larger team over several months; either way, the brief, planning and creative decisions stay with the same person.

A flexible production partner

eko create works directly with in-house marketing and communications teams, and alongside agencies that need reliable extra production capacity.

We can take a project from brief to final delivery, or plug into an existing workflow for filming, editing, motion, photography, social content, podcasts, digital ads and other campaign assets.

Graphic Design & Publications

Reports, brochures, presentations and branded digital documents designed to communicate complex information clearly and consistently.

Agencies and creative partners we’ve worked with include Scarlett Abbott, Jam Pan, Sea Salt Learning, Isotoma, CTI Digital (formerly Stardotstar), Blackbridge, hyperexponential and Genus and Me.

Dan has spent almost two decades producing films, animation and campaign content for organisations including Aviva, LNER and Elsevier. He stays close to the creative throughout, bringing a practical, hands-on approach from brief to final delivery.
